The light source (LED wafer array) and PCB are placed at the bottom of the backlight, and the light is emitted from the LEDs through the reflector at the bottom and then evenly through the diffuser and brightening film on the surface.

Structure：The advantages of straight down backlight technology are high luminance, good viewing angle, high light utilisation efficiency and simple structure. The space between the diffuser and the LED light source improves the uniformity of luminance. The number of light sources, luminous brightness and power consumption are all greater than those of edge-lit backlighting, as the thickness, weight and power consumption of the module are increased.
