Do You Know The Latest Requiring Criterion About LED Industries In ERP ?

What Is Erp

ERP is the full name call “ Energy-Related Product”, one of the EU instructions in CE certification which is a mandatory import directive, effect from 1st/September. The energy-related product has a close relationship with each circle among the production process, marketing and selling process, as well as the life circle of use. Such as the consumption of original material, the production of waste, the environmental pollutant emitted from the hazardous substance, and cause the climate change because of the energy consumption.

The purpose of ERP put out by European Union is to meet with Eco-friendly design by creating a coherent and comprehensive legal framework

  • Ensure free movement of the energy-consuming product under EU control.
  • Improve the overall environmental performance of products to protect the environment.
  • Securing energy supplies and improving the competitiveness of the EU economy.
  • Protest the interests of the industry and consumers.

This Regulation establishes ecodesign requirements for the placing on the market of

(a) light sources;

(b) separate control gears.

The requirements also apply to light sources and separate control gears placed on the market in a containing product.

The EU has reviewed their directives in the last three years in the light of the constantly improving technical environment and economic factors of lighting products, as well as actual user behavior, and promulgated a new version of the ERP directive on 5 December 2019. Compared with the old version, the main difference is following:

  • Adding some household appliances and furniture with lamps in the range of applications.
  • The calculation of energy efficiency was changed from EEI index to Ponmax, and the factor of color rendering index was added to improve the requirement of energy efficiency.
  • Adding stroboscopic test: SVM、Pst LM.
  • Added power consumption requirement for network control network standby.
  • Increased requirements for driving energy conversion efficiency
  • Switching cycle tests, start-up times, and warm-up time tests have been removed.
  • A number of test samples: light source only 10, drive only 3.
  • Endurance test 3600 hours, including lighting time of 3000 hours, the test time is greatly reduced, but the maintenance rate of light requirements are greatly improved.

Following Requirement About Label, Packing And Specification According To Energy Labeling Of Light Sources (Eu) 2019/2015 And Eu Lighting Products New Erp Directive

1. Label requirements about Bulks and light tube

Non-directional lights: Effective luminous flux and color temperature need to be marked on  the nameplate or silkscreen of the lamp

Directional light: The effective luminous flux, color temperature and beam angle need to be marked on the nameplate or filament of the lamp body

2.1Label requirement of fixtures

1). Luminaires with non-removable light sources: Effective luminous flux and color temperature need to be marked on the nameplate or silkscreen of the lamp in Non-directional lights. And the effective luminous flux, color temperature and beam angle need to be marked on the luminaire's nameplate or filament

2). Luminaire with removable light source: Effective luminous flux and color temperature to be marked on the nameplate or filament of the LED modules, bulbs and tubes. And effective luminous flux, color temperature and beam angle are to be marked on the nameplate or silkscreen of the LED module, bulb and tube. (Note: There are no requirements about the nameplate of CTLS, LFL, CFL, other FL and HID, etc )

2.2 Non-removable packing requirement of bulb, tube and lighting source.

Effective luminous flux with an indication of the type of effective luminous flux

3. Packing information requirement

1 The following information should be printed on the package

A) Effective luminous flux and indicate the type of effective luminous flux: For example Non-direction light: xx lm in a sphere (360°); Direction beam angel≥90°: XX lm in the sphere ( 120°); Directional beam angle<90°: xx lm in a sphere (90°);

B) Color temperature needs to be rounded to hundreds, such as 4000k, 6500k, can not be marked with 4230k; it can also be marked with graphics or text, such as warm white or color temperature range, such as 4000k-6500k, 4000k/6500k

1 4000k

C). Only for directional lamps, beam Angle, or beam Angle range

2 lighting angle

D). Input electrical parameters, such as voltage, frequency, and dc voltage

3.220V

E). Rated lifetime: only for LED products

5000hous 4

F). Rated power;

G). Standby power consumption (W). No need to label if there is no standby function, e.g. lamp with microwave/infrared sensor.

H). Network standby power consumption, no need to label if there is no network standby function, e.g.: smart wifi bulbs.

I). Colour rendering index, rounded or settable range.

J). If the color rendering index is less than 80, it needs to be stated that it is for outdoor use/industrial use/other cases where the color rendering index is less than 80, for high-pressure discharge lamps this is not mandatory.

K). If the light source is used in a non-standard environment it needs to be specified, e.g. if the ambient temperature is not 25°C or other temperatures; e.g. ta 50°C if ta 25°C there is no need for labeling.

L). A warning that the light source is not dimmable or is dimmable by special dimmers, wired/wireless dimming devices, dimming measures, or dimmers needs to be listed on the manufacturer's website.

M). Input electrical parameters, such as voltage, frequency, and DC voltage lamp;

N). If the light source contains mercury, a warning should be marked and the mercury content should be indicated: X.X mg;

O). If the light source complies with Directive 2012/19/EU on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) or contains mercury, a warning: Do not dispose of as unsorted municipal waste.

LABEL 5

(a) to (b) must be labeled, and labeling is required if space allows for other clauses. Dimming and color matching can set the light source of the light-emitting mode, and the dimming range needs to be indicated. All the information on the package does not have to be expressed in exact words, but can also be expressed in the form of graphics, drawings or symbols.
